The cartography department of “Jana seta” was founded in 1992. During this time it has grown and developed on a modern enterprise. Now “Jana seta Map Publishers” Ltd is a leading company in the market of maps in the Baltic States. “Jana seta Map Publishers” offers a wide range of cartographical editions as well as services of various kinds including polygraphy works, GIS and programming. Over the years the international authority of „Jana seta Map Publishers” has strengthened. Already since 1992 company takes a part in Frankfurt book fair, as well as in various home and international competitions, in which „Jana seta Map Publishers” published maps have earned recognition and main awards. For example, publishing of Great Geographic atlas was announced as the main event in Latvian publishing of the year 2009 by Latvian Publisher Association. However printed maps and atlas is not the only thing the company does. Increasingly larger significance in „Jana seta Map Publishers” service list fills information technology products. Interactive map system „JS Baltija” is used many largest Latvian companies. Transportation control system which is developed on base of GPS (global positioning system) follow-on foundation is getting more and more popular, it is already used by couple of thousands of vehicles. Thanks to the large amount of vehicles to operate „Jana seta Map Publishers” has created at the moment the only information system about traffic jams in Riga, which is available in site www.kartes.lv for free for everyone. In 2010, „Jana seta Map Publishers” also presented it’s first map of Latvia for Garmin navigation device and in 2011 — map application for iPhone mobiles BalticMaps.
