Bookcraft Limited is a dynamic and innovative publishing company established in Nigeria in 1988. Over the years we have established a distinctive presence in the Nigerian and African book market; and our titles have quickly become easily recognisable, with their reader-friendly design and packaging, from handy pocket-sized books to paperbacks and large-format coffee-table books. Our publications cover a wide range of genres, including historical accounts, public affairs, political analyses, business, fiction, memoirs, poetry, etc. Our list continues to grow, as we constantly push publishing boundaries in Nigeria and beyond. Our growing, and significant list now includes Wole Soyinka, Kole Omotoso, Niyi Osundare, Arthur Mbanefo, Keith Richards, Michael Peel, Matthew Kukah, Femi Osofisan, Remi Raji, Jess Castellote, Oladipo Akinkugbe, Toyin Falola, JP Clark, Tunji Olaopa, Olufemi Taiwo, Tunde Adeniran, Richard Bourne, Okey Ndibe, John Campbell. In 2006, Bookcraft published Wole Soyinka’s bestselling memoir, You Must Set Forth at Dawn; subsequently becoming the Nobel Laureate’s African publishers. Bookcraft then entered into a ground-breaking, joint publishing partnership with UK-based Methuen Publishers to make this book available in the UK. We are constantly looking for opportunities to enhance and increase our list through rights sales and acquisitions. Among the titles we recently acquired are The Bright Continent by Dayo Olopade, a Nigerian-American journalist; Never Look an American in the Eye and Foreign Gods Inc., both by Okey Ndibe who is also a Nigerian-American novelist, political columnist, and essayist. We have sold the rights to Africa Must be Modern, an engaging, philosophical treatise by Olufemi Taiwo, and also to Kingsley Moghalu’s Emerging Africa. Bookcraft participates regularly at book fairs, conferences and other book events within and outside the country. This has enabled us to keep abreast of publishing trends worldwide while at the same time, exposing our brand to an increasingly global audience.
