Editorial Planeta Argentina was founded in 1966 with the aim of leading the country’s cultural scene by promoting prominent Spanish American and especially Argentinian writers. In 1983 the company published Malvinas. La trama secreta, which sold over 150,000 copies in four months, becoming a leader and helping to increase local publications. The company maintains its leadership in Argentina, and its catalogue features works of fiction and non-fiction which encompass all the spheres, especially those of narrative, essay, history, political and social current affairs, personal development, popular science, humour and memoirs. Editorial Planeta Argentina features these literary genres in collections such as Biblioteca Paulo Coelho, Espejo de la Argentina, Historia Argentina, Autores Españoles e Iberoamericanos, Biblioteca Breve, Biblioteca Jorge Luis Borges, Biblioteca Adolfo Bioy Casares, Escritores Argentinos, Grandes Novelistas, Pequeño Emecé, Biblioteca Ernesto Sabato, Biblioteca Formentor, Los Tres Mundos, Áncora y Delfín, Destino Infantil, Espasa Narrativa and Biblioteca Emecé Bicentenario.
