During the writing process of Huang Kecheng, the writing group members kept designedly going to Huang Kecheng’s hometown, the places where he once led his men to fight with enemies and the unit that he worked for during the war years to survey for 8 years. They visited over 50 old people who used to work with Huang Kecheng, and also went to the Central Archives, the PLA Archives, the General Logistics  Department, the Academy of  Military Sciences  and  the  related military region, provincial and municipal archives many times to collect materials. The book describes the fighting experience and historical  merits  of Huang Kecheng fully, objectively, truly and vividly, reflecting his outstanding political, military talents and personality charm.
